The East Manchester Academy
“I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to you and Donovan for the incredible first aid training session you delivered to our 220 teenagers on Monday.
The feedback from the staff has been universally positive – everyone agrees that the day was a huge success. Your engaging sessions captivated the students, and they were all hanging on your every word. In fact, many of them have already approached me requesting further training on different first aid topics! This is a testament to how much they enjoyed and learned from your program.
The positive impact wasn’t limited to the students. Several staff members have also expressed interest in receiving first aid training from you. We’ll be reaching out to you in the future to schedule additional courses.”
—Mrs Johnston
Blakehill Primary School in Bradford
“I just wanted to say thank you for letting me join in your Flat Stan workshop at Blakehill Primary School today. Research tells us that not enough people in the UK have the skills and/or confidence to initiate CPR, with initial bystander CPR rates as low as 43% in England. We also know that recognition of cardiac arrest and immediate CPR significantly increases survival rates. To see you empower a new generation of first aiders and give them the tools and confidence to have a go was just wonderful. Your session was fun, engaging and inclusive – it was particularly heartwarming to see children with special educational needs (SEN) joining in the session and learning the basics of CPR with their peers.
As a GP, I am aware of the benefits of teaching CPR in schools. As a governor, I am proud to be part of a forward-thinking primary school that can see the benefits of early first aid training. As a mum, it was a privilege to witness 2 of my daughters learning the basics of CPR/first aid; it also gave me confidence that my younger daughter with significant SEN will learn these invaluable skills in the future.”
—Dr Chellam, Governor
Bempton Primary School in Bridlington
“I would like to thank you for coming into our school. School and parents felt that first aid is an important issue to raise and train children in and the Flat Stan workshops were engaging and informative for the children. I ask the children about the workshops the following day and they had lots to tell me with great enthusiasm. Garry was very friendly and approachable, and the children loved the hands-on approach. We will definitely be doing the workshops either annually or biannually to keep the children’s knowledge up to date.”

The workshop was nothing short of fantastic and proved to be an invaluable learning experience for both children and adults alike. The workshop was informative, engaging, interactive, and, above all, fun! The instructor demonstrated an exceptional ability to connect with the children, making the learning process enjoyable. From basic wound care to more complex emergencies, the workshop covered a wide range of first aid skills.”

“I would just like to say a very big thank you to you and your trainer Seb. The children certainly enjoyed their training. The booklets and certificates went down very well.
Our Student Council suggested that they would like first aid training for all pupils- your advertising email arrived at the right time! They will be writing to you with their views, shortly.
For my part, Seb was very friendly. The children were engaged, excited to learn an extremely important subject, and really had fun.
Booking was very easy and my email’s were always answered very quickly – thank you for that.
One of my responsibilities, at school, is first aid. We have online training, but I think it is much better to have the training in person. I have mentioned that you also train adults to our SLT, and have suggested that we dedicate a teacher training day to this. Hopefully, I will be in touch about this.
Thank you once again.

Hyndburn Park Primary School in Accrington
“As a PSHRE subject lead and a Year 5 teacher at Hyndburn Park Primary School in Accrington, our theme this half term for Year 6 was First Aid.
I booked Flat Stan to reinforce all the learning our children have been doing and WOW! What an amazing experience from start to finish. From the initial booking procedures and phone call with Donovan and then the session delivered by Simon – everything was simplified and made easy, and the communication was brilliant.
The session itself was absolutely mind blowing! All the children (and staff!) thoroughly enjoyed themselves in each of the sessions and the range of practical activities and demonstrations, including the certificates, goodies and booklets for the children was spot on and went down a treat. Simon’s friendly demeanour and humour was just what our Year 6s needed and his insightful sessions had them hooked!
I can’t thank Flat Stan enough for allowing our children to be immersed with a lifelong skill and I hope that we can book Flat Stan again in the future for more of our children to be ‘Flat Stanned!’
—Miss Kauser
Dean Field Community Primary School in Halifax
“First Aid for children was something we have always wanted to do but never knew how. We wanted to expose our children of real-life situations which they may face in their lifetime. Children face a variety of situations outside of the school grounds, in which we are not there to support them. We wanted to give the children a broad understanding of how to support others in need, and to share this information with their family members.
Flat Stan was recommended to us as a school, and we could not have been happier with the outcome. Simon came and delivered sessions to Years 3-6. All the sessions were fun and engaging allowing the children to take in the information allowing it to become sticky knowledge. Children were learning all the relevant information they need to know such as basic first aid, how to be safe helping others and what to do if an external agency is needed.
We have a child in school who visits their birth country each year and has retuned back to school this time with the emergency number for that country in case of an emergency. She has applied the information Simon share with her and has put this into practice.
Thank you, Simon. Flat Stan is something all children should learn, and we would highly recommend to other schools.”

They particularly loved the hands-on practise of CPR and being able to use the Flat Stan manikins for demonstrations. It was impressive to see Simon keep up his enthusiasm throughout the whole day. I would highly recommend booking the Flat Stan workshop for any school and we will be booking in again for next year.”

—The Year 6 Team
Trinity Academy St Chad’s in Brighouse
“Children from Years 1 to 6 at Trinity Academy St Chad’s completed the Flat Stan course using the online videos and resources. The sessions were of the perfect length and pupils enjoyed using the time between sessions to discuss, practice and make notes around their learning. We received a high number of comments and emails from parents after the sessions to say that their children came home ‘buzzing’ about their course and could retain lots of knowledge. One parent said that the knowledge that their Year 1 child had gained could ‘really save a life’. Thank you Flat Stan First Aid for producing a brilliant resource.”
—Mrs Dawson
Ursuline Preparatory School in Wimbledon
“The children had a great time learning valuable first aid skills. Some of our children find this topic challenging but the trainer made it accessible to all, hands on and fun. The workshop helped us to get good curriculum coverage without the worry of having to deliver it ourselves which would have been very time consuming, considering all the other curriculum requirements. All our requests were accommodated to fit the needs of our school and our children loved the certificates and Flat Stan guides they received. Thank you so much for delivering the First Aid workshops for our school.”
